Mandiant provides a range of educational offerings within our program to include courses in the following areas: Introductory and Executive level courses, Incident Response, Intelligence and Attribution, Malware Analysis, Advanced Acquisition and Testing Techniques, along with various workshops. In addition, Mandiant offers a Team Exercise using a Cyber Range that provides our clientele the ability to test the knowledge, skills, and abilities, of their security teams in a consequence-free environment.
Private Course Deliveries
Private courses are where a selection is made from our existing portfolio and is in essence a class specific for the customer. Clients can have up to 20 students attend the training which is delivered by our full-time instructors and subject matter experts, in person or remotely (depending on course), and scheduled at mutually agreeable times based on your organizations needs and staffing availability.
Public Trainings
For those organizations that may have a requirement to train fewer employees, we have a public option (per seat purchase). Having this option available enables a customer to purchase individual seats in any of our publicly available courses. On a reoccurring quarterly basis, we offer courses globally within each region in order to meet time zone demands.
On-Demand Training
Mandiant offers various on-demand courses. On-demand courses are self-paced and can be taken at the pace of the student. These courses, just like our instructor led courses, are developed, and delivered by our subject matter expert practitioners and can be accessed at any time, 24 hours a day. On-demand courses provide a lot of flexibility, particularly for organizations that may not have the ability to allow employees time off to attend training due to operational requirements.
Customized Development
In the event training is required where Mandiant does not necessarily have courses “off the shelf”, we can develop courses and create additional content based on identified client requirements. As required, we can develop specific customized training courses holistically, or modify existing training curriculum to ensure client requirements are met. We have the available knowledge to do so along with the resources to meet the customer’s timeline.
Training Augmentation
As requested, Mandiant can develop and incorporate our existing trainings into or develop courses for, customer internal training curriculum. These types of activities are in support of organizations that have internal training departments and, in which case, supplement their curriculum with Mandiant Academy courses.
ThreatSpace
ThreatSpace is a service that provides an organization the ability to exercise their teams’ capabilities. ThreatSpace is a technology-enabled service that allows an organization to assess and develop its security team’s ability to respond to real-world threats in a consequence-free environment. Using a virtualized environment that simulates a typical IT infrastructure such as network segments, workstations, servers and applications, teams use ThreatSpace to assess their technical capabilities, along with processes and procedures, as they investigate simulated attack scenarios. The scenarios we use are based on our extensive incident response experiences responding to thousands of breaches, including the latest adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures, and test an organization’s ability to detect, scope and remediate a targeted attack.
Certifications
Mandiant offers two certifications on topical areas that Mandiant has significant expertise: Incident Response and Intelligence Analysis. Certifications are geared towards candidates having between three and five years of respective experience. Upon successful completion of the exam, candidates are “certified” and receive a document showing that the credential is good for 3 years. The maintaining of the certification is required by completing Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or by retaking the exam. CEUs are on a three-year cycle and can be obtained through activities such as:
- Taking an online or instructor-led training (ILT) or educational course or webinar.
- Reading a book or whitepaper.
- Publishing a book, webinar, whitepaper, or article.
- Attending a cybersecurity conference (in-person or virtual).
Cyber Security Training
Instructor-led courses offered off-site by Mandiant experts, offered virtually, hosted by Mandiant or on customer premises. Subject to availability. Contact academy@mandiant.com to discuss non-EOD costs.
