  • The Easy Install Process

This involves creating a Bulk Registration Token and using the URL provided to install, configure the networking, and register the Actor.

This method can only be used if you meet the required prerequisites. These include, but are not limited to: the OS is already installed, the Actor does not require a proxy for communication with the Director, and communication works if the platform chooses the interfaces.

  • Interactive (Standard) Installation: A step-by-step install with user-friendly prompts and messages.
    1. Adding the Network Actor Configuration to Director
    2. Installing the RHEL/CentOS Actor - Standard Method
    3. Configuring the Actor's Networking
    4. Registering your Actor using the Director
  • Automated Installation
    1. Adding the Actor Configuration - API
    2. Installing the Actor - Automated Method.
      • (Option 1) - Direct Install with flags
      • (Option 2) - Automated installation with an ini file (sample is included)
    3. Configuring Networking using a JSON File.
    4. Registering your RHEL/CentOS Actor - Automated Method.

The majority of the installation steps do not differ for the various versions of CentOS, RHEL, and Ubuntu. Where there are differences, the OS is called out in the step.
