For security purposes, organizations may not want to use actual social security numbers, names, mailing and email addresses, credit card numbers, or other PII/PCI data in their security content. As such, the Validation Platform includes a Data Exfil File Generator that can generate "valid" records that comply with various data standard formats.
To generate a new Data Exfil File
Within the Director, click Library > Files.
The File Library appears.
Click Data Generator.
The Generate a Data Exfil file page appears.
- Enter the file name, the number of file rows (records), add and order the desired fields, and select the file type.
Click Data Generator.
The new data exfil file is downloaded to the user's workstation, where column names and formats can be edited. You can upload an edited file as described in Adding Files to the File Library.
