Running Actions – Admin Settings

Several Advanced Settings may impact Job Results. For example:

  • Time Paused Between Job Actions: If this is too short, events that should be associated with one Action in a Sequence or Evaluation may actually appear associated with the next Action. This field must be configured to closely match the time it takes your environment to generate events. The issue is frequently identified with Host CLI Actions.
  • Sleep before Prepare Action Retry: This specifies how long the system should wait before retrying if the Prepare Action failed.
  • Sleep Before Reverting Snapshot to Allow integrations to Communicate: The time being too short here could result in Jobs with Protected Theater Actions not having events associated with the Actions. This must be configured to match the wait time configured on the Integration.
  • Host CLI Actions - Force Windows Code Page to English: In Windows environments where the primary language is double-byte character-based, this setting forces the command output to be in English. When enabled, the CLI Log Output in Job Results displays the output in English. This ensures that the Job Results for these Actions are accurate after being processed by Security Validation.
In MA-SV, this setting is organization-specific, meaning it only applies to Windows Actors in the Security Validation organization that the admin belongs to.

There are also settings specific for running Host CLI Actions on Protected Theater:

  • Host CLI Actions - Windows Automatic Logoff User Session: Automatically logs off the user after a CLI Action completes.
This setting is organization-specific, meaning it only applies to Windows Actors in the Security Validation organization that the admin belongs to.
  • Host CLI Actions: Pull Connection Log for Protected Actor: When running Actions on a Protected Actor, this option enables pulling the connection log from the Protected Theater to show what connections were attempted.
When using Linux or Ubuntu, Actors can be located on the Cloud and still run the Host CLI Actions.
