Mandiant Security Validation (MSV) Network Actors' network configurations are integral to the platform. If you choose Yes for Validation Platform controlled when running vsetnet, Network Actor routing must be configured through the platform.
- These steps only apply to Actors that are installed from a virtual appliance (OVA, AMI, VHD) and only if during installation you chose to have the Security Validation Platform manage networking.
- If you have a software-based install, you must configure static routes manually using operating-system commands; if you don't, MSV may not work properly.
- Launch the Director.
- Select Environment > Actors.
- Locate the Actor that needs the route configured and click more > Edit.
- Locate the Routing table and click Add Route.
- Fill out the Add Actor Route form:
- Destination host or Network IP address (hostname is not valid)
- Netmask
- Gateway (optional)
- Interface
- Click Create Route. The Actor's Routing table is updated to reflect the new route.
