Installing the Actor is a quick and easy process that can be completed several different ways. An overview of these methods is listed as follows. Prior to completing installation, your OS must be configured.
This method involves creating a Bulk Registration Token and using the URL provided to install, configure the networking, and register the Actor.
This method can only be used if you meet the prerequisites. These prerequisites include, but are not limited to:
- The OS is already installed
- The Actor does not require a proxy for communication with the Director
- Communication works if the platform chooses the interfaces.
- Adding the Endpoint Actor Configuration to the Director
- Installing and Configuring the Actor
- Adding the Actor Configuration - API
- Installing & Configuring the Mac Actor - Command Line
After installation is complete, we recommend you Confirm Actor-Director Communication and Configuring macOS Users for Bash.
Actors installed on macOS cannot run File Transfer Actions that require DNS or ICMP tunnels. All other File Transfer Actions run as expected.
