Mandiant-hosted Cloud Actors (Hosted Actors) can be used for simulations that involve a threat that comes from the public internet. If you have a Hosted Account as part of your license, you can stand up a Hosted Actor and use it as the source of an attack.
For example, when running an Action, you can select the following:
- Source: Hosted Actor
- Destination: Some actor inside your network
Mandiant provides the elastic IP (EIP) and a fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) that you can then use to register the Hosted Actor to your Director. See Register your Network Actor using the Director for more information.
The following functionality is not supported on Hosted Actors:
- Remote Integrations
- Host-CLI commands
- Custom IP tables rules
- SSH access
