Run Actions Based on Action Tags

You can setup an Action to run based on the Run As, Source/Destination, and OS/Platform Tags (see Action Tags for more information). On the Select Actors window, you can select Run Recommended to determine how many Jobs need to be run to cover all combinations of the pertinent Tags.

  • You can't run Email Actions based on Source/Destination Tags.
  • Run Recommended automatically selects the appropriate Users for the Action to run based on the following criteria:
    • The available User Profiles on the system
    • The Run As tags attached to the Action
    • The type of Action being run
Running Actions this way could allow you to run multiple Jobs at the same time, as long as each Job has unique Actors. Jobs that use the same Actor will be queued instead. This is a great way to quickly get results from multiple zones.
  1. Go to Library > Actions.
  2. Select an Action.
  3. Click Run.
  4. Select the Run Recommended checkbox. This will tell you how many Jobs will be run when you click Run Now.

  5. (Optional) Expand Advanced Options to set a name for the Jobs or to select a specific interface.
  6. (Optional) Expand the Runtime Parameters section and define any of the runtime parameters.

If the Action can be run by different Action User Profiles, the Run as User runtime parameter defaults to Recommended Users and will use the Action User Profiles that match the Run As Tags and honor global settings, such as the Host CLI Actions - Windows Randomize Executables option in Advanced settings.

  7. Click Run Now. This will take you to the Job Status page where you can see the Jobs that were created. From here you can open the individual Jobs.
